Obituary Oneonta Star 23 Aug 1961
Mrs. Addie Beams, 90, of 17 8th St, died August 21 in Cooperstown after a three year illness. Funeral services will be at 2 pm Thursday at the Lewis Funeral Home, Oneonta. The Rev Dr. George Thomson, pastor of the Main Street Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be at Glenwood Cemetery.

She was born May 18, 1871 in Oneonta, the daughter of Norman and Eliza J. (Williams) Yager. She was married to Enos Beams, Oneonta, Jan 19, 1888. He died on Sept 11, 1942. She was a licensed practical nurse and lifelong resident of Oneonta. She was a member of Main Street Baptist Church; carter member of the Fidelity Class, honorary member of Deaconess Board, Group No 1 Ladies Circle, Women's Benefit Association and the Otsego County Women's Republican Club.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs Lena Bishop, Densville and Mrs Robert L. Johnson, Oneonta; one grandson, John Bishop, Vestal; a great grandson, S/Sgt Robert L. Bishop, Tarawa Terrace, NC; a great granddaughter, Mrs Richard McKnight, Ossining; a great great grandson, Daniel Lee Bishop, Tarawa Terrace, NC; a brother, Howard Yager, Cooperstown; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
