"Roy Willis Twaddell was born on October 14, 1888, son of Solon and Mary Priscilla Mast Twaddell. He was born on the home place southeast of Skidmore. He remained on the farm caring for his widowed mother and on January 19, 1909 he was married to Lura M. Shell, daughter of Edbert T. Shell and Cora Ashford Mitchell Shell. They remained in this community. They later purchased the family farm and remained there until 1944. In that year they moved into Skidmore remaining there until their deaths. Three children were born to this union: Lucy G., Donald F., and Phyllis Jean. The entire family are members of the Skidmore Christian Church.

Roy Twaddell died on November 17, 1975 and Lura Twaddell died on June 1, 1965. Both are buried at the Hillcrest Cemetery south of Skidmore, MO."

"Roy Willis Traddell, 87, lifelong resident of Skidmore, died at 5:15 a.m. today at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Paul Taylor, Skidmore, following a brief illness.

A retired farmer, he was born October 14, 1888, at Skidmore, the son of the late Solon and Mary Mast Traddell. In January, 1901, he was married to Miss Laura M. Shell, who died in June, 1965. He was a member of the Skidmore Christian Church.

Besides Mrs. Taylor, he is also survived by another daughter, Mrs. Galen Cook, Marshall; a son, Donald Twaddell, Skidmore; one sister, Mrs. John Pflaumer, Craig; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, at the Skidmore Christian Church with Charles Stillman officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Skidmore. The body is at the Johnson Funeral Home, Maryville."
