Elizabeth A. Dominy, 87, of Floyd, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 25, 2013, Christmas morning, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on October 28, 1926, in Bombay, NY, a daughter of the late Henry and Elizabeth (Boyer) Fleury. On February 19, 1955, at St. Patrick's Church in Hogansburg, NY, she was united in marriage to Raymond Dominy, a blessed union of over 58 years filled with much love and mutual devotion. Elizabeth was employed for many years with Alcoa Aluminum in Massena. Along with her husband, she was a Foster Parent for nine years. She was a member of St. Leo's Catholic Church in Holland Patent and the Stittville VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She was also a member of the Floyd and Marcy Seniors. Elizabeth enjoyed hockey and was an avid fan of the Utica College Pioneers Hockey Team. She also enjoyed playing Bingo and cards. She is survived by her husband, Raymond Dominy, of Floyd, and her daughters, Rebecca Edmondson and her husband, Austin, of Morganfield, KY, Kelly Ellsworth and her husband, Brian, of Stanfield, NC, and Michelle Dominy and her husband, Brian French, of Cheraw, SC. She also leaves five grandchildren, Amanda Hatfield and her husband Donovan, Sean Edmondson and his wife, Whitney, Casey Ellsworth, Sarah Ellsworth and Eric Brown. Also surviving are two brothers, Paul Fleury, of Massena, and Emmett Fleury and his wife, Cathy, of Massena. She was predeceased by a son, Peter Dominy, who died in 1975; a grandson, Scott Brown; and her siblings, Walton Fleury, Elsie French, Ona Giles, Leo Fleury, Pearl Brown, Lyle Fleury, Pauline Smith and Donald Fleury. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 2:00 PM at the Dimbleby, Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral Home, Forty Main St., Whitesboro. Interment will be in the spring in Townsend Cemetery in Stittville. Family and friends are invited to call prior to the service on Saturday from 11:00 to 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, please consider Bethany Gardens Activity Fund, 800 West Chestnut St., Rome, NY 13440 or the Rome Hospital Foundation, 155 West Dominick St., Rome, NY 13440 in her memory.
