Obituary from Wayne County Newspaper: Mrs. Joseph C. Talbert, 71, of near Wayne City, IL died at Memorial hospital, where she had been a patient the past eight days. Her death was attributed to a cerebral hemorrhage. Mrs. Talbert fell while getting out of bed early on the morning of October 24th and fractured her hip, according to the coroner who conducted an inquiry into her death. Mamie Ellen, daughter of Luther M. & Grace Orr Yates, was born in Wayne county, September 3, 1886. In March, 1909, she was married to Joseph C. Talbert and four children were born to this union. Survivors are her husband; sons, Thomas H. & Clyde E.; daughters, Mildred Petit & Myrtle Templeton; a brother, Guy Yates; sisters, Mabelle Cisne & Addie Ray; four grandchildren. Funeral services were held from Hopewell church with burial in the Hopewell cemetery. The Richardson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. (Submitted by: 46799457)
