Amanda (nicknamed Mandie), was the daughter of Mike & Lettie Cheatham Parr. She married Leonard Grimes, the son of Nicholas & Arkansas "Arkie" Switzer Grimes. They were the parents of Chesley & Leslie (twins), Leonard Pearson, Ethel O. and William Grimes. The couple's marriage ended in divorce.

She married Lewis Morgan Gabhart, the son of John & Mary Wheeler Gabhart. They were the parents of a daughter, Mary Elizabeth Gabhart.

•Obituary-Harrodsburg, Ky.,-(Special)-Mrs Amanda E. Gabhart, 78, widow of Louis Gabhart, died at 6:30 o'clock Friday morning in Haggin Memorial hospital here. She was a native of Jessamine county and a member of United Presbyterian Church.

Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Ford Devine and Mrs. Mary Benge, both of Harrodsburg; three sons, William Graves [sic Grimes], Shakertown; Leslie Grimes, Lexington, and Leonard Grimes, Germantown; a brother, Elisha Parr, Frankfort; 18 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon at Bruner and Sims Funeral Home by the Rev. George Akhel. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Burial will be in Spring Hill cemetery.
