Mary was the daughter of George Stangl and Christina Manneman. She married George Beyer on 19 February 1917 in Mt. Carmel, Iowa. They were the parents of Leonard, Marita, Ruth, Roland, and Leo. She married 2nd Noah Baker on June 1, 1943 at Carroll, Iowa.


Dec 28, 1987 - Carroll Times Herald - Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 31, at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Carroll for Mary B. Baker, 90, who died Sunday, Dec. 20, at Sierra Madre, Calif.

The Rev. Mervin Hood will officiate the services. Casket bearers will be Clarence Humlicek, Hilbert Meister, Orville Meister, Kenneth Meister, Vince Stangl and Bill Reineke. Visitation will begin at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 30, at Twit Funeral Home in Carroll. Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Wednesday.

Born July 23, 1897, in Mount Carmel, she was a daughter of George and Christina (Manneman) Stangl. Mrs. Baker had lived at Sierra Madre, Calif., for the last 16 years. She was a housewife. She was a member of the Arcadia and Sierra Madre Senior Citizens.

She is survived by her daughters Mrs. Bill (Marita) Campbell of LaPuenta, Calif., and Mrs. Leland (Ruth) Guthrie of Sierra Madre, Calif.; sons, Roland Beyer of Chula Vista, Calif., and Leo Beyer of Eads, Tenn.; 14 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and sisters, Julie
Meister and Clara Meister.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, George Beyer, on Aug. 3, 1930; second husband, Noah Baker, on March 18, 1965; a son, Leonard Beyer; and brothers, Leo, Frank, Cyril, and Henry.
