William Ammon was born Feb. 16, 1906, near Lane and spent most of his life in the community. He married Lossie Pate June 8, 1940. They had farmed west of Wessington springs the past two years.
Survivors include his widow; three sons, the Rev. Melvin Ammon, Soldier, Kansas; Donald and Allan at home; one daughter, Kaye a student at Dakota Wesleyan university; two grandchildren; four brothers, Louis, Alpena; Fred, Woonsocket; Henry, Alexandria; George, Bakersfield, Calif.; one sister, Mrs. Wilbur Cowan, Brainerd, Minn..
