Mrs. Mary Florence Stokes, 72 of Plevna, passed away Sunday, Sept. 1 at the Hostel House, Edina, where she had been since July 24.
She was born June 5, 1902, the daughter of Amos Lee and Ruth Elliott Kendall.
On March 9, 1933, she was married to Leroy Stokes in Edina and he survives. Also surviving are a brother, Carl Robey Kendall of Shelbina and several nieces and nephews. Her parents preceded her in death.
She was a life long resident of the Plevna community and lived for three years on Newark.
She was a member of Matilda Chapter #411 OES of Edina who held services Monday at 8 p.m. at Hudson-Rimer Funeral Chapel, Edina, with Rev. Mike Coombs of Edina officiating and burial was in the Newark Cemetery.
