Robert "Bob" Malkowski, 76, of Doctor Drive passed away December 17, 2013. Bob was born in Trenton, NJ; he served his country in the United States Navy and was a veteran of the Vietnam War retiring after more than 20 years of service. Bob also retired from Norshipco as a rigger after twenty-six years. He was a founding member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church and where he served as a Eucharist minister and for many years a member of the Men's Club. He was Past Grand Knight and longtime member of the Knights of Columbus Father Nicholas J. Habets Council #4632; a member of the Father Nicholas J. Habets Fourth Degree Assembly #1505; and current President of the Columbian Club.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 54 years, Lois Malkowski; sons, Robert D., John J. (Kathie) and Donald M. Malkowski; grandchildren, Jacob Malkowski (Meghan) and Rebekah Malkowski.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated Monday, December 23, 2013 at 1 p.m. at Holy Spirit Catholic Church with Reverend Timothy M. Kuhneman officiating followed by full military honors. The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 22, 2013 from 6 to 7 p.m. at the church, a Christian Wake service will begin at 7 p.m. The Knights of Columbus will hold a Chalice Service prior to the wake service. He will be laid to rest at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial State Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk
