Lois I. Mitchell, age 86, of Mt. Morris, formerly of Sterling, died Wednesday, February 10, 2016, at Pinecrest Manor.
Lois was born April 11, 1929, in Winfred, S.D., the daughter of Frank and Ethel (Schisler) Fritz. She married Robert Mitchell on August 1, 1978, in Rock Falls. He preceded her in death on December 11, 1998.
Lois was a homemaker and was a member of Harvest Time Bible Church in Rock Falls. Gardening was one of her favorite hobbies.
Survivors include two sons, Rick (Tammy) Mills and James Mills; two step sons, Robert Mitchell and Earl Mitchell; one step daughter, Vickie Conderman; three sisters, Ada Hauge, Pearl Forrest and Rose Hellenbeck; four grandchildren, Victoria (Dave) Grimes, LeAnne (Jack) White, Greg Mills and Laura Mills; nine great-grandchildren and many step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; her daughter, Vickie; one step daughter, Gloria Mitchell; five brothers and five sisters.
Funeral services will be private.
Memorials have been established to Harvest Time Bible Church and St. Jude Children's Hospital.
