RHODES – Bertha "Kay," 78, formerly of Windber, died July 9, 1993 at Arbutus Park Manor. Born August 5, 1914 in Jeannette, daughter of D. Louthry and Jenny (Page) Grow. Preceded in death by parents, husband, Robert M., and sister, Pauline. Survived by a son Robert M., Jr., married to former Sally Brubaker, Somerset; and these grandchildren: Robert M. Rhodes III, Jennifer L. Rhodes, Ruth K. Romesberg. Sister of John Austin Grow, Scalp level; Theodore W. Grow, married to former Lillian Wriggleman, Erie; Louella, wife of Harry Sterner, and Thelma, wife of Charles Marshall, both of Johnstown. Former librarian at Windber Public Library. Member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Windber. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, at Meek Funeral Home Inc. Windber, where service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, the Rev. Howard Greenfield. Entombment, Richland Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, family suggests contributions be made to Calvary United Methodist Church or Arbutus Park Manor.
