Anna (Yursisin) Ondis / Ondes
Funeral Services for Mrs Anna (Yursisin)Ondis, 395 Fountain Street were conducted this morning (November 5, 1949) with a prayer service at her home at eight-fifteen o'clock followed by a requiem mass at the church of the Transfiguration at nine o'clock. Rev John F Glazik, pastor, was celebrant of the mass. Burial was at St Bonaventure cemetery with Fr Glazik officiating. The Villa Maria Auxillary, The National Slovak Society and the Rosary Society attended the services in a body. Pall bearers were George Alexsa, George Hanobick, John Pavel, Steven Jurenko, John Kasper, John Sotochin, John Washington,and Andrew Martin.
Surviving besides her husband, Andro Ondis, whom she married August 1, 1911. Three sons, John Ondes and Michael Ondes, of Olean and Andrew (Frances) Ondes of Lee Park, Wilkes Barre, Pa. and a granddaughter, Diana Ondes of Lee Park, Wilkes Barre, Pa. One sister, Mrs Mary (John) Demchak of Wilkes Barre and two brothers, John Yursisin and Andrew Yursisin of Austria.
Attending the services from out of town were Mr & Mrs Andrew Ondes and family, Mrs Mary Demchak; Miss Mary Demchak, Miss Agnes Demchak, Mr & Mrs (Elizabeth Demchak)Leo Bryski, Ronald Bryski, Mrs Joseph Sosik, Joseph Sosik, Mr & Mrs Sila Konsevitch, Miss Shirley Sosik, all of Wilkes Barre, Pa Mr & Mrs George Gasper; Mrs Anna Chorba, Mountain Top, Pa and brother-in-law George Ondis Schumaher, Canada.
