Ernest "Ernie" W. Cassida, 68, formerly of Bedford, passed away on Sunday December 15, 2013, at 10:00 P.M. at Paoli Health and Living Community Center.
Born March 5, 1945 in Monroe County, IN, he was the son of Ernest and Louise (Thatcher) Cassida.
He married Wilma Sons on November 20, 1964; and she preceded him in death on September 20, 2002.
He was a graduate of Bedford High School, Class of 1963. He retired from W.F. Myers, Inc., Bedford, where he worked as a machinist. He also worked at Coca-Cola Bottling Co., in Bedford.
Surviving are two daughters, Kathy (Randy) Burks, of Fountain Inn, SC, and Kim (Jon) Collins, of Pearlington, MS; five grandchildren, Jessica and Latisha Burks, of Fountain Inn, SC, Isaac, Josiah, and Emily Collins, of Pearlington, MS; and two sisters, Jane Carter Hardwick, Oviedo, FL, and Donna Cassida, Springville, IN.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and two grandchildren, Hope and Whitney.
Funeral service will be on Thursday, December 19, 2013, at 11:00 A.M. at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home, with Jon Collins officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
Friends may call on Wednesday, 4-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
