Bart H. Dye, 75, of Shoals, passed away on Saturday, June 29, 2013 at his home. He was born in Martin County, Indiana on January 27, 1938 to George and Naomi Ruth (Baker) Dye.
He married Erma Lowery-Dye on March 5, 2008 in Lawrence, County.
Bart was a veteran of the Vietnam War and retired after eighteen years of service to the United States Air Force. He worked as a salesman and greatly enjoyed farming.
He was an avid genealogist and has an extensive collection of family history. He was a member of the White River Masonic Lodge #332 F. & A.M., and Indianapolis Valley of the Scottish Rites.
He is survived by : Wife, Erma of Shoals; Two sons: Bret Dye of Franklin, TN John Richard Dye of Indianapolis; Eight grandchildren: Danielle Dye, Michaila Dye, Gabrielle Dye, Sarah Lowery, John Lowery, Gabriel Dixon, Keagan Mathews and Kyndall Mathews. Step-son, Nathan Lowery of Bedford Step-daughter, Kara Mathews of Oolitic.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at the Queen-Lee Funeral Home in Shoals.
White River Masonic Lodge #332 F.& A.M. will conduct a memorial service prior to the service.
