DELL TRUMAN BALCH, born April 24, 1927 in Houston, Texas passed away on July 2, 2006.

He served his country proudly during World War II in the US Navy.

Dell married the love of his life, Nelva Joyce Mansell soon after returning. After getting his degree at University of Houston and starting a family, the couple moved to Nacogdoches and then to Lufkin where Dell was an active member of the Jr Chamber of Commerce. In 1960, Dell and Joyce, with their children, settled in Houston. His career in the life insurance business with New York Life and The Guardian Life Insurance company spanned five decades.

Dell's brave fight with cancer began just weeks after losing his wife and although his fight was not successful, his family and friends have the joy of knowing that the two of them are together again with the Lord.

He is survived by his daughter Cathy Balch and her partner Michael Endres of Wimberley as well as son Terry and his wife Susan of Houston and their children Erin and Matt Barker and Meghan and Brian Dailey. Dell was the great-grandfather to Sheehan, Ashton and Sydney Barker and Colton Dailey.
