Leo Henry Keithley was the third child born to Joseph Henry Keithley and Martha Ann Conn. The family was living in Fairview, Fulton, Illinois at the time of his birth. He married Catherine Sweetman in California in 1907. Leo moved from Oregon and settled in the Peace River area of Alberta, Canada about 1917 where he became a farmer. He married Wilhelmina Sauer in 1930; they had 3 sons and 1 daughter (one son and the daughter died in infancy).
