He was a retired farmer and a member of New Hope Baptist Church.
He is survived by a daughter, Barbara Davis; a son, Bobby Mangrum; two sisters, Gladys Defew and Mamie "Gertie" Dowdy; a brother, Raymond Mangrum; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Virginia Sullivan Mangrum. His parents were Thomas and Della Forth Mangrum.
