Ruth Carpenter Huneycutt, age 93, of Norwood, died Friday, December 13, 2013, at Bethany Woods in Albemarle.

Her funeral will be at 4 p.m. Sunday, December 15, 2013, at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Norwood. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Born June 29, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Crawford and Flora Carpenter.

She was employed in textiles and also worked as a CNA. She was a member of Norwood Church of God in Norwood and enjoyed caring for others and her family.

Mrs. Huneycutt was married to the late Thomas Huneycutt, who preceded her in death in August 1976.

One son, Tommy Huneycutt and two daughters, Marie Austin and Mary Morris, also preceded her in death.

Survivors include four sons, Ed Huneycutt, Richard Carpenter, William (Buzzy) Carpenter and Allen Blake; one daughter, Edith Croft; grandchildren, Dawn Morris, Lynn Morris, Tommy Morris, Toni Beckinger, Josh Huneycutt, Zachary Huneycutt, Adam Carpenter, Andy Carpenter, Terri Locklear, Lori Carpenter, Melissa Eudy, Derek Carpenter, Ana Austin and Cindy Austin; great-grandchildren, Jennifer Belsinger, Bucky Hathcock, Tanya Hathcock, Sara Beckinger, Samantha Beckinger and Jake Morris; great-great-grandchildren, Hunter Hathcock, Landon Hathcock, Miley Miller and Jayden Hathcock; brothers and sisters, Frank, John, Tom, Jim, Hannah, Ruby, Myrtle, Louise, Pat and Florence; and numerous nieces and nephews.
