Bernie was born, Sunday, August 22, 1954 in Meade County, KY to thelate, Barney W. and Nellie R. Troutman Allen. also preceding him in death was his sister, Elaine Atwell.
He was a member of Boilermakers, Local D-595. An avid coon hunter for many years, he was even a past president of Flint Run Coon Hunters Club, and a member of Old Capital Coon Hunters Club. Bernie graduated from Meade County High School in 1972. He worked over 30 years, for
Cemex Kosmos Cement Co. Bernie enjoyed spending time with his family and working on his farm. He will be especially missed by his
grandchildren.
Bernie is survived by his: loving wife, Charlotte Faye Johnston Allen;
children, Libby Charles, Sabrina F. (Jessie) Thomas, and Robert K. Allen
all of Wolf Creek; sisters, Barnetta Conroy of Louisville, Kaythia (Joel)Stanton of Colombiana, AL, Vickey (Jr.) Carter of Wolf Creek; brothers,Pat (Cindy) Allen and Kent (Nita) Allen both of Wolf Creek, KY;
grandchildren, Samantha Charles, Blake Thomas, Zachary Charles,Cailee Thomas, Jaylene Thomas, and Quinton Thomas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 14, 2013 at 1:00 P.M.
EST, from the chapel of Bruington-Jenkins-Sturgeon Funeral Home,
brother Tom Bridge officiating. Burial will follow in Parr-Franz cemetery.
Visitation will be held Friday, December 13, 2013 from 11:00 A.M. to
8:00 P.M., and after 9:00A.M. on Saturday.
