James Madison Gill, 73, of Procious, passed away on Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at his home after a short battle with leukemia.
He was the son of the Otis and Zella Gill, in addition to his parent, he was also preceded in death by his brothers, Cecil, Virgil, Wilbur, Richard, Jobe and Frank Gill and Randy Woods, sisters, Goldie Dillion, Bertha Butcher, Eleanor Smith and Mamie Smith, son-in-law, Bobby (Tooter) Summers and great grandson Bobby Darius Morton.
He was a coal miner and a retired truck driver.
James is survived by his wife of 52 years Betty Spencer Gill, son, James Jr. "Charley" and his wife Renee Gill, daughters, Tamera Summers, Tina (Joey) Baughman, Kim (Stanley) Gould, Michelle (Jason) Bodkins, grandchildren, Jesse Gill, April Summers Morton, Stephanie Baughman Adkins, Madison Baughman, Lindsay, Jessica and AJ Grose and Travis Morris. Step grandchildren Stevie Morris, Amber Long Scarbro, Brittany Rogers, Amy, Alice and Justin Caudill, Tracy Brown, Jason Gould, Jonah and Jamison Bodkins, great grandchildren, Gabriella Morton, Logan Lautzenheiser and Kennedy Adkins, great step grandchildren, Brylynn Scarbro, Elena Young, Jacob and Seth Brown and Rylan Gould, sisters, Beulah Dillion, Judy Butcher and Cheryl Starcher, brother, Ledford Woods, Ole Buddy Jessie Grose and beloved poodle Molly.
Funeral service will be held 1:00 Saturday, October 27, 2012 at Wilson-Shamblin-Smith Funeral Home, Clay, with Minister Lonnie Ramsey officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Walnut Grove.
