Marjorie B. Baskett, 77, formerly of Columbia, passed away Saturday, March 1, 2008, in Sedalia.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 6, at Emmanuel Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Marjorie was born Dec. 21, 1930, in Columbia to Robert T. and Emma D. Calvin Tomlin.

Survivors include former husband James Baskett of Hallsville; a son, James Baskett Jr. of Columbia; three daughters, Wendy Allcorn and husband Jeff of Sedalia, Cindy Simmons and husband Jack of Chattanooga, Tenn., and Mindy Garcia and husband Delfino of Georgia; a brother, Lawrence Tomlin of Columbia; two sisters, Betty Whitesides of Hallsville and Wanda Reeves of Clark; five grandchildren, Joshua, Caleb and Hannah Allcorn of Sedalia, and Jeremiah and Toby Simmons of Chattanooga; and two great-grandchildren, Matthew and Kaitlyn Allcorn.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Arthur, Jimmy and Carl Tomlin; sisters Mary Iffert and Gertrude Wyatt; and infant daughters Jennifer Lynn and Rebecca Jo.
