New Carlisle-Mary Lou Gesto, 79, passed away on Thursday, August 16, 2012 at home, peacefully surrounded by family and friends.
Mary was born on January 19, 1933 in Wabash, IN to Eugene and Lena (Knisley) Bare. She was one of four sisters, Laverna, Norma, Patricia and herself. Mary was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Norma Gadd and Patricia Magiera.
She worked for over a decade at Memorial Hospital as a Physical Therapist before getting married to Stanley Gesto Jr., on November 9, 1963. Mary loved her family, animals, drawing, acrylic painting and sewing. After 50 years of a wonderful and rewarding marriage she is survived by her loving husband, Stanley Gesto Jr.; daughter, Laura L. (Duane D.) Krauter; two grandchildren, Peggy E. Krauter and her fiancé, Derek J. Grover and Drew D. Krauter and his fiancé , Tiffany A. Grover; three great grandchildren, Kirstin L. Krauter, Desmond D. Krauter and Lauryn A. Grover all of Mishawaka and a sister, Laverna Barsoda of Osceola.
Visitation will be on Monday, August 20 from 1 to 3 p.m. with funeral service at 3:00 p.m. in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka with Rev. Bob Vale officiating.
