Hulda Elvira White was the daughter of Jephtha White and Mariah Sutton. She was born and raised in Lawrence County, Missouri. She married Ephraim Hughey in that county on July 24, 1870. They were parents of one daughter, Hester (1872-1904). After Ephraim's death Hulda married James S Harrington on December 25, 1874, in Crawford County, Kansas. With him she had one son, Pearl P Harrington (1877-1915). James Harrington died about 1880 and Hulda then married the Rev. James D Springer July 18, 1882 in Lawrence County, Missouri. They were parents of three children: George Benton Springer (1887-1949), Dora Alice Springer (1890-1971) and Bess Grace Springer (1897-1960). Hulda was living in Malden with her daughter and son-in-law, Bess and Clyde Corbin, when she died in 1919. Her death certificate states that she was buried in Rosalia Cemetery on February 27, 1919.
