Fred D. Athearn, of Kremlin, was called here Sunday by wire announcing the death of his mother which occurred at the home of his parents about 10 miles below Rocky Point on the Missouri river, south of Zortman. A daughter of the deceased arrived from Rugby, N.D., the same day and both left for the ranch on the Missouri where the burial was made Monday afternoon. It seems that Mr. and Mrs. Athearn had recently moved to that section and taken up a homestead when the mother was taken suddenly ill and passed away before other relatives could be reached by wire.
