Alfred Dawkins, 81, of Waterford, died Feb. 21, 2005 at Alliance HealthCare in Holly Springs.He was born Dec. 18, 1923, in Marshall County to the late Fred and Irene Dawkins. He attended Isom and Reed schools in Marshall County. He served his country faithfully during World War II.
Services were held at 1 p.m. on Feb. 26 at Walton Chapel CME Church in Waterford, where he was a member. Burial was in the church cemetery. Rev. Eric Shields, pastor, officiated. Serenity Funeral Home Inc. of Holly Springs was in charge of arrangements.
He leaves a brother, Kenneth Wicks of Chicago, Ill.; and his caregiver and nephew, John Dawkins of Holly Springs.
Pallbearers were Eugene Washington, Kenneth Washington, Alvin Curry, Marvin Richmond, Eddie Foster and Sylvester Jeffries.
