A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Home, conducted by Reverend Don Clemant. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Mr. Hicks was born March 15, 1937, in Avery County, North Carolina. He was married to Shirley Wehunt Hicks for over 50 years. He retired from Industries for the Blind and was very involved with Beep Ball and Blind Bowling. He loved all sports, walking, and growing his roses. He will be deeply missed.
Mr. Hicks is survived by his wife Shirley Wehunt Hicks; daughter, Angela Hicks and fiancé Mark Sarnecki; sisters, Willa Dean Piercy (Johnny), Mary Lou Freadell, and Frances Honeycutt; brother, David E. Branch (Tonnie); and several nieces and nephews.
