MRS. ENNEKING DIED FOLLOWING MAJOR SURGERY

Mrs. Catherine Enneking, who was the wife of Clem Enneking, died on Friday at last week at the Good Samaritan hospital in Dayton, following a surgical operation. She and her husband were prominent residents in the Minster community. With two of their sons they were residing on a farm one and one-half miles west of Minster, where they were members of the St. Augustine church.

On Sunday, Nov 15, she went to Dayton in the company of other family members and was entered that day into the hospital. While her health had been somewhat delicate for several months, there seemed no decision to entertain any apprehension at the time when she made the trip to Dayton. She was strong enough to make the trip without an ambulance service. Her death, however, occurred not long after she was on the operating table.

Mrs. Enneking was aged 59 years, 8 months and 13 days at the time of her death. She was born Mar 7, 1877 on a farm northwest of Minster that is now owned and occupied by a brother, John Kaiser and his family. As a girl she attended a school in a building that stood near the village of Egypt, while her religious training was administered by the pastors of the St. Augustine church.

She was the daughter Gerhardt and Mary Kaiser, members of an earlier race of people in the Minster community. These people were both born in America and their lives were spent very largely in this locality. They have both been dead for many years but at this time they are survived by the following sons and daughters, brothers and sisters of Mrs. Enneking: Mrs. Anna Stueve, Henry and John Kaiser, Mrs. Elizabeth Sommer and Mrs. Josephine Sommer, all residing in the Minster community.

She was united in marriage to Clem Enneking on May 25, 1898 at the St. Augustine church at Minster, and their martial life was prolonged over a period of thirty-eight years. They spent all these years on a farm west of Minster, where Mr. enneking was born and where his parents resided for a long period. They became the parents of eight children, seven of whom are living and they are: Mrs. Mary Boehmer of McCartyville; Joseph Enneking, west of Minster; Mrs. Elise Schmitmeyer, east of Minster; Bernadetta Sander and Mrs. Rosella Boerger of Ft. Loramie; John Enneking and Clem Enneking, Jr., living at the home. A son who was George Enneking died at the age of eleven months.

There are thirteen living grandchildren.

The funeral service was held at the St. Augustine church Tuesday morning and it was attended by a large number of people from different communities. The Mass was sung by Rev. Vitus Schuette, C.PP.S.
