Funeral services for A. E. Nelson, 91, route 2, Princeton, were held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Mission Covenant church with the Rev. Clarence T. Molen officiating. Burial was in Oakland cemetery. Arrangements ere handled by Larson mortuary. Mr. Nelson died Thursday afternoon at Woodward Memorial hospital, Sandwich, following a short illness. He had submitted to surgery Feb. 1 at Copley Memorial hospital, Aurora.

A. E. Nelson was born March 3, 1864, in Sweden. On December 23, 1891, he was united in marriage to the former Ellen Thulean at Princeton. To this union eight children were born, seven of whom survive. Mr. Nelson lived in the Princeton vicinity most of his lifetime and was engaged in farming. He was a member of the Mission Covenant church, Princeton. For the past winter he had been making his home with a daughter, Mrs. Amos Colliflower, Sandwich.

Surviving are one son, Walter, Sandwich; six daughters, Mrs. Mildred Oman, Princeton; Mrs. Everett (Ella Mae) Taylor, Princeton; Mrs. Frank (Florence) Hassell, Colorado Springs, Colo.; Mrs. Donald (Gladys) Johnson, Cranford, N.J.; Mrs. Amos (Esther) Colliflower, Sandwich, and Mrs. Elmer (Sylvia) Peterson, Princeton. Also surviving is one brother in Sweden, one sister in Sweden, and one sister in California, 12 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, who died in 1939, and one daughter, Anna, who died in 1928.

Anders Emil Nilsson the oldest of nine children born to Nils Johan Andersson & Sara Greta Johannesdotter. Anders left Sweden March 19, 1886 headed for Orleans, Harlan County, Nebraska, where his uncle, Louis J Johnson (Lars Johan Johannesson) had settled. On Dec 23, 1891 Anders Emil Nilson a carpenter from Lincoln Nebraska wed Ellen C Thulin of Princeton Illinois at the Swedish Evangelical Luthern Mission Church in Princeton Illinois. Andrew & Ellen were the parents of 8 children; Mildred Evelina, Walter Victor, Ella May, Florence Margerit, Gladys Darlene, Esther Marie, Anna Pauline & Sylvia Verna.
