Mrs. Virgie Effie Horton, 78, of
the Kents Ridge Road section of
Richlands died Sunday, May 21, in a
Richlands hospital following a long
illness.
Born in Tazewell County, she was
the daughter of the late William D.
and Edna McGlothlin Dye. She was
preceded in death by her husband,
William A. Horton in 1963.
She was a lifelong resident of
the Richlands area and a member of
the First United Methodist Church
in Richlands.
Survivors include three sons,
Wade H. Horton of Indianapolis, IN,
Bane A. Horton of Richland and
William Horton of Dayton, OH; three
brothers, Bill Dye and Hugh Dye,
both of Richlands and Clarence Dye
of Webber City; six grandchildren
and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted
Tuesday at the Tazewell County
Funeral Home chapel in Cedar Bluff
with the Rev. Calvin Maas officiating.
Burial followed in the Hankins
Cemetery in Richlands.
Friends served as pallbearers.
