Pearl Marie Sorenson was born to John Blixt and Susanna Kymberg on the 28th of January, 1902 in Butte, Silver Bow, Montana under her birth name Hilma Blixt. After the divorce of her parents in 1904, she lived for a short time in Bovey, Minnesota where her mother ran a boarding house that was purchased for her mother by her Aunt Edla Lisa (Elizabeth) Kymberg and her Uncle Matt Boriin. She also spent a short time in Deerwood, Minnesota in her childhood. Her mother became ill and they returned to Chisholm, Minnesota where Matt and Elizabeth lived until her mother's untimely death in 1910. Shortly before her mother's death, her Aunt Sofia Braskey took her to live on the farm with her and her family in Knox, Price, Wisconsin. In 1912, she was adopted by her Aunt and Uncle Matt and Elizabeth Boriin. When Hilma was in her twenties, she changed her name to Pearl Marie. In 1929, she married Albert Iver Sorenson with whom she was married until his death in 1965. In the early 1980's, due to her advancing age, her daughter moved her to El Paso, Texas, where she spent the remainder of her life. Pearl Marie Sorenson passed away in 1996 and is buried next to her husband Albert Iver Sorenson at Ft. Snelling Cemetery in Minnesota.
