In ill health for the past two years, Mr. Vech passed away at 4 o'clock, Sunday afternoon at his farm home northwest of Verdigre. Death was attributed to a heart attack. Several members of his family were present at the time of his passing.
Despite his illness, Mr. Vech was able to get around. On Friday afternoon, he was uptown greeting his friends. He was 65 years of age last July.
Surviving are his wife and nine children; Agnes Konopasek of Medford, Ore.; Arnold of Grand Island; Edward of Verdel; Helen Kemnitz of Creighton; Wilma Pellilkaan of Verdigre; Thomas of Lyons, Ill.; Blanche Felthoven of Chicago, Ill.; Elsie McCormick of Verdigre and Lillian at home.
A native of Madison County, Mr. Vech has resided in Knox County for 29 years. He was a well known farmer in this community.
Mrs. Veck is the former Miss Kate Dvorak. They married Febr. 12, 1901.
