Clayton served his country in the United States Army as a Sergeant in WWII. After his discharge from the Army he worked as a supervisor at Tinker Field Air Force Base in Midwest City, OK. After his retirement he moved to the Oak Hill community and raised cattle on his ranch. He enjoyed spending time around the ranch.
Clayton is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Clayton and Debra Adams of Broken Bow, OK, daughters and sons-in-law, Kay and Richard Childs of Broken Bow, OK and Pam and Bob Simer of Jonesboro, AR; two brothers, Tom Adams and Odell Adams of Texarkana, TX; three sisters, Syl Reed of Dallas, TX, Catherine Maze of CA and Bertha Hall of DeKalb, TX; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; numerous family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Betty J. Adams; two brothers and one sister.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at Brumley Funeral Home Chapel, Broken Bow, OK with Bro. Stephen Buchanan officiating.
