Betty Dempsey, 82, of Johnson City, died November 24, 2013 at her home. She was born on November 25, 1930 to Ernest and Mildred Wagner.

She was a member of Pinecrest Christian Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Junior Dempsey, and her son-in-law, Robert Guinn.

Survivors include: her daughter, Judy K. Guinn, Johnson City; three sons, Jack Dempsey and his wife Darlene, Robert "Bugs" Dempsey, and Keith Dempsey, all of Watauga; seven grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; four great great grandsons; one brother, Thomas Wagner and his wife Dixie, Texas; three sisters, Delores King and her husband Michael, Johnson City, Gayle Voiers and her husband Frank, West Virginia, and Connie Isaacs and her husband Dennis, Elizabethton; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A funeral service is scheduled for Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at 12:00 PM in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Mr. Randy Carrier and Dr. Wayne Emery will officiate. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 12:00 PM Tuesday.

In lieu of flowers, the Dempsey family requests donations to Pinecrest Christian Church, 124 Woodland Drive, Johnson City, TN 37659.
