Born in Towamensing Township, he was a son of the late Henry and Cora (Green) Eckhart.
He was a member of Jerusalem Lutheran Church, Trachsville.
Surviving with his widow are three sons, Robert C. of Palmerton R.2, Albert H. of Swiftwater and LeRoy F. of Kunkletown R.2; seven sisters, Irene, wife of John Bollinger of Weatherly, Mrs. Isabelle Brown of Frackville, Mrs. Vanetta Bollinger of Lehighton R.1, Mrs. Arlene Kresge of Kunkletown, Elsie, wife of Harvey Andrews, and Carrie, wife of Burton Wentz, both of Palmerton, and Beatrice, wife of William Smith of Tamaqua; a brother Mahlon of Bethlehem; 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
