Madeline F. Zehren, 81, of St. Kilian, passed away on Friday, June 26, 2009, at Cedar Lake Health Care Center in the town of West Bend.

She was born on November 30, 1927, in St. Kilian, the daughter of the late Kilian and Mary (German) Ruplinger, and on April 30, 1946, she was united in marriage to Leo A. Zehren at St. Kilian Catholic Church in St. Kilian. Her husband preceded her in death on November 14, 1993.

Madeline was a member of St. Kilian Catholic Church in St. Kilian and St. Mary's Sodality. During her years of employment, she worked at the Baker Canning Factory and Dinner Bell Restaurant both in Theresa and the Fireside Restaurant in Allenton.

Two of her favorite pastimes included crocheting and knitting. Madeline will fondly be remembered as one who enjoyed an occasional beer, cards and bowling. She will be deeply missed by her family.

Survivors include six children, Richard Zehren and Kenneth (Chris) Zehren both of St. Kilian, Larry (Myra) Zehren of the town of Wayne, Tom (Diane) Zehren and Gary (Linda) Zehren both of Campbellsport and Elaine (Charles) Ertl of West Bend; two sisters, Mary Ann (Donald) Lichtensteiger of Campbellsport and Bernice Fleischman of Kewaskum; a brother-in-law, Aloysius (Margaret) Zehren of Kewaskum; three sisters-in-law, Edna Ruplinger and Rita Zehren both of Kewaskum and Audrey Ruplinger of St. Kilian; 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband and parents, Madeline was preceded in death by four brothers, Ralph (Florence), Orlando, Leander and John Ruplinger; three sisters, Cordell (Arnold) Amerling, Viola (Wilmer) Kudek and Helen (Elroy) Zettler and three brothers-in-law, Eugene Zehren, Frank Fleischman and Florentine (Dorothy) Zehren.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Madeline was held at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, June 29, 2009, at St. Kilian Catholic Church in St. Kilian N 189 county Rd W Campbellsport, Town of Ashford. Father Neil Zinthefer officiated and burial followed in the parish cemetery.

Relatives and friends called at the church on Monday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of Mass.
