WOOD- Abbie A. Wood, 3119 W. Court Street, age 76, died Friday, January 30, 1953. Funeral services will be held at 3 PM Monday, February 2, 1953, from Groves & Co. Memorial Chapel, Garland at Third Avenue, Reverend Harry W. Colenso officiating. Burial in Gracelawn Cemetery. Mrs. Wood will lie in state at Groves & Co. Memorial Chapel.
Death was due to complications following an illness of 5 months. She was born in Cannonsburg, Michigan, March 31, 1876, daughter of B.J. (sic. B.H.) and Mary Whitman, lived in Flint for the last 21 years and has been a resident of Genessee County since 1919, from to Genessee County from Boyne City, Michigan. She was a member of the Methodist Church.
Surviving are: daughter, Mrs. Joyce Tripp of Mt. Morris; two sons, Devear E. Wood of LaGrange, Indiana, and Edwin A. Wood of Flint; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Arthur E. Whitman of Flint; several nieces and nephews.
