Hays -- Wendeline Unrein, 91, died Oct. 25, 1990, at St. John Nursing Home, Hays. He was born Oct. 11, 1899, at Munjor, the son of Joe D. and Clara Leiker Unrein.

He was a retired farmer, carpenter and plumber and a lifetime resident of Hays. He was a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus Council 1325, Bishop Cummingham 4th Degree Knights of Columbus, and the Eagles Lodge, all at Hays.

On Nov. 6, 1923, he married Helen Weber at Munjor. She survives.

Other survivors include: one son, Alvin, Wichita; two daughters, Lorine Bollig and Aletha Denning, both of Hays; one brother, Leo, Tuscon, Ariz.; two sisters, Katie Richmeier, Hays, and Mary Wolf, Russell; 18 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren.

Eagles Lodge rosary will be at 6:30 p.m.; Daughters of Isabella rosary will be at 7:30 p.m.; Parish vigil service will be at 8 p.m., followed by a Knights of Columbus rosary, all today at Hays Memorial Chapel, Hays. Funeral service will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Hays, with Father Don Zimmerman presiding. Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Hays.
