She was born April 21, 1930 at Core, a daughter of the late Oscar Burl Ammons and Icie Mae Johnson Ammons.
Mrs. Statler was a homemaker and a member of the Sycamore Lanes Monday and Thursday Senior Citizens Bowling League.
Granny Martha was survived by two sons and spouses, Gary and Linda Statler of Jakes Run, and Ronald and Kathy Statler of Blacksville; one daughter and spouse, Arietta Mae Tennant and husband Bill of Blacksville; four brothers and their spouses, Buddy Burl Ammons and Brenda, Delbert Ammons and Lola, Ronald B. Ammons and Donna, and Donald Wayne Ammons and Linda, all of Jakes Run; a brother-in-law, Carl Moore, of Daybrook; eight grandchildren and their spouses, Tammy and Vernon Varner of Fairview, Tiffany and James Durst of Blacksville, Jason W. and Holly Statler of Blacksville, Gary Statler Jr and Lisa of Blacksville, Jason A. Statler and Mindy of Wadestown, Susan and Jason Tennant of Core, Shelly and Michael Tennant of Core, and Kenneth and Heather Statler of Wadestown; and thirteen great-grandchildren, Cheyanne Michael, Gage Statler, Isaiah Tennant, Madison Statler, Lainey Statler, Kooper Statler, Kenly Statler, Danielle Varner, Brody Varner, Nicholas Statler, Colton Statler, Tyler Tennant, and Kelsey Tennant.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Statler who died June 27, 2002; and two sisters, Freeda Moore and Alberta Ruth Ammons.
Friends may call at the Owen-Neely Funeral Home in Blacksville from 2-4 & 7-9 PM Sunday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 AM Monday with the Rev. Freddie Eddy, II officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Luke Cemetery at Mooresville.
