Scholitta Burrus, 62, of Brookport, passed away, 4:27 p.m., Sunday, November 17, 2013 at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah as a result of injuries sustained in Sunday's Tornado in Brookport.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 23, 2013 at Brookport Church of God (intersection of 4th & George Streets) with Rev. Charles Tate and Pastor Jeremy Beggs officiating. Interment will follow in Otterbien Cemetery in Pope County.

Scholitta Burrus, 62, of Brookport, passed away, 4:27 p.m., Sunday, November 17, 2013 at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah as a result of injuries sustained in Sunday's Tornado in Brookport.

Scholitta was born December 22, 1950 in Metropolis to Horace and Ezra Mae (Heflin) Lange. She married Jackie Joe Burrus on June 29, 1973 in Metropolis. Scholitta and Jackie Joe shared 39 years of marriage together, before he preceded her in death on January 28, 2013.

Scholitta was a homemaker. She was a 1968 graduate of Metropolis Community High School and was a member of the Brookport Church of God

She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Scholiita is surved by her son, Jackie Burrus, of Clearwater, FL; two brothers, Harold (Linda) Lange and Buck (Dorothy) Lange of Metropolis; two sisters, Kay (Ed) Rude of Campas and Cookie Stites of Paducah; KY,several sisters-in-laws and brothers-in-law, Margie Lange of Metropolis, Sandy (Ted) Randles of Unionville, Peggy (Roy) Wetherington, Wilma (Willard) Walls, Norma Varvel, Annie (Darrel) Harris, Donnie (Bonnie) Harris, Roy Wetherington and Jimmie Galbraith all of Brookport. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, David, Bobby and Donnie Lange, one sister, Martha Wetherington, one sister-in-law, Gail Galbraith and two brothers-in-laws, Jimmie Burrus and Gary Varvel.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 23, 2013 at the Brookport Church of God (intersection of 4th & George Streets) with Rev. Charles Tate and Pastor Jeremy Beggs officiating. Interment will follow in Otterbien Cemetery in Pope County.

Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday at the Brookport Church of God.
