Alice Kula, 88, of Gaylord passed away Friday, May 24, 2013. She was born May 15, 1925 in Detroit to Anthony and Celia Kuczborski.

Alice is survived by her devoted husband of 63 years, Thomas. She was also the loving mother of Karen (Gary) Plucinski of Williamsburg, and Greg (Marianne Coleman) Kula of Cheboygan; beloved grandmother of Jaime (David) Castle, Meghan (Travis) Clous, and Kelly Plucinski; and adoring great-grandmother to Allison, Jacob, Keira, William, and Mason. Alice is also survived by her sister, Rosemary Kuczborski.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Virginia Makowski.

Alice's passions in life included playing cards, bowling, meeting with her Red Hat ladies, reading mysteries, dancing the polka, and enjoying family gatherings.

Alice will be sorely missed by her family and friends. She will be remembered for her strong Catholic faith, her devotion to her family, and her passion for life itself.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at 11:0 AM from St. Mary Cathedral. Visitation will be held at the cathedral on Tuesday (May 28) from 10:00 AM until the time of services.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Mary Cathedral in Gaylord or to the charity of one's choice, through the Nelson Funeral Home, PO Box 1548, Gaylord MI 49734.
