Johnston City-Barbara Beers, 66, of Johnston City passed away on Friday, November 15, 2013 south of Marion at 3:30 P.M.
Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 20, 2013, at Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City with Rev. Dr. Michael Mayfield officiating. Burial will be in the #8 Cemetery east of Johnston City. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Johnston City. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
Barbara was born on February 6, 1947 in Herrin, the daughter of Luther and Bonnie (Smith) Kinley. She married Marvin "Ray" Beers Sr. He preceded her in death on July 24, 2007.
Barbara was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Johnston City. She did tax preparation and accounting. She was very close to her family.
She is survived by her mother of Johnston City; four sons, David Beers and wife Darla of Herrin, Ray Beers of Corinth, Vance Beers of Corinth, and Jason Beers and wife Sherry of Johnston City; fifteen grandchildren, Dusty, Brittany, Dalton, Greenlee, Corey, Kelcie, Colt, Michayla, Stoney, Briar, Fallon, Jamie, Toni, Cooper, Kalla; eight great grandchildren, Alexis, Izabella, Ariah, Gracelynn, Kyler, Brody, Gabriel, and Audrina; two brothers, William Kinley and wife Betty of Johnston City, and Earl Kinley and wife Alisa of Johnston City; one sister, Jean Ann Ray and husband Harry Jr. of Johnston City; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father; and a grandson, Hayden Abbott Beers.
