Funeral services for Ellen Moore were conducted on Tuesday, July 11 at 9:00 a.m. at the St. Jerome's Catholic church, Rev. Joseph Dineen officiating.
Ellen Moore, 81, died in St. Joseph's hospital, Highland, on Saturday, July 8 at 7:00 p.m. The remains were at the Edwards funeral home where the Rosary was recited on Monday, July 10 at 8:00 p.m.
Interment was held in the St. Jerome's Catholic cemetery.
She is survived by five sons, one daughter, Mrs. Kathelene Berthorello of Troy and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her sons Tom, Barnard and Harry live in Troy, while Joseph lives in Chicago and Robert in Collinsville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Patrick Moore, who died in October, 1943, and two sons William who died in service during World War I and James who died in 1936.
Ellen Moore was born in West Virginia on March 28, 1869. From there she moved to Kansas, finally resettling in Troy about 40 years ago. Pall bearers were Peter J. Craney, Jim Bone and Al Auwarter of Troy, Pete McBarvi and Joe McMullen of Collinsville, and Ed Burke of Edwardsville.
