Mr. Hobbs was born in Kingsville, where he lived until he moved to Holden in 1991. He was a farmer. He was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, Kingsville.
Survivors include his wife, Marie Hobbs of the home; three sons, R. Eugene Hobbs, Hagerstown, Md., and James Hobbs and Kenneth Hobbs of Kingsville; a sister, Thelma Wesner, Riverside, Calif.; three brothers, Lawrence Hobbs and Russell Hobbs of Kingsville and Virgil Hobbs , Lee's Summit; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
