Mr. Garrott graduated from Gallatin High School, served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Upon returning home he went into business with his father and brother at Garrott Brothers Continuous Mix where he worked as President and Chief Mechanic until his retirement.
He was a member of the Gallatin Lions Club, Deacon at the First Presbyterian Church, Kentucky Colonel, Tennessee Colonel, National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association, Black Powder Hall of Fame in Friendship, Indiana and member of the Kentucky Corp of Long-riflemen.
