Doris was born in Neymours, West Virginia on June 23, 1934 to Watson and Edith Neel. In 1951 Doris married her husband of 54 years, William Henry Caines in War, West Virginia. They relocated to Freeport, Texas with Dow Chemical, settling in Lake Jackson where they lived for the next 30 years. By that time both she and Bill had fallen in love with their beautiful property in Colorado, built their log cabin and opened their door to many friends and family. It was a dream fulfilled.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Bill Caines; and her parents, Watson and Edith Neel.
Doris was a wife, mother, grandmother and as importantly a steadfast friend to those she had known throughout her life and also to those who were in need of a compassionate listener. She was there for all of us and loved by all.

Doris was extremely proud of her service for the Hospital Auxiliaries in Texas and Colorado, in addition to her membership in PEO, Womens Circle and Sanctuary Choir at the Prebyterian Church.
