Leslie Bud Buffington 65, Cascade, died Thursday Aug. 28 1996 at his home of natural causes. Graveside services were conducted Tuesday at the Margaret Cemetery, Cascade, under direction of Heikkila Funeral Chapel, McCall.

Bud was Born Feb 25, 1931 in Dixie, Idaho and moved to Cascade at age 16. He worked at the Cascade sawmill for 40 years. He married Alice Cooper in 1951 and they were later divorced. In 1982 he married Norma Jean, who died in 1985.He loved to hunt, fish, pack horse, and camp in the mountains around Cascade. He was a member of the Wrangler Horse Club. He loved his grandchildren.

Surviving are his children, Dave Buffington, Boise, Jane Sampson, Kamiah, Larry Buffington, Kooskia; three sisters, Carman Irwin, Cascade, Bertha Chadwell, Boise, Marj Gallispy, Parma; a brother, Pete Buffington, Meridian; 5 grandchildren, Leslie Soderstrom, Keith and Kevin Buffington, Kurt and Joe Sampson; and two great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Angie, a brother, Zip Irwin and a sister, Mac Johnson.

"Bud" is what everyone call Leslie he was a great Horseman, He loved Riding with Stacy Spies, Colby Buffington and the rest of the Children that would ride, and go hunting with him. Bud taught the Kids how to ride, Shoe, Rope and tend to the needs of the horses. Bud would ride the mountains with the kids and tell them all kinds of Stories, and talked often of his wife Norma Jean, who was the love of his life. The Children learned many things from "Uncle Bud" as they all called him and will have fond memories to pass on to their children.
