She married Ross E. Scobee on December 24, 1931 in Adair Co., MO.
Survivors include two sons, Delbert and Gilbert Scobee, and one foster son, James Bell, three brothers Melvin Clay, Eldon Clay and Murl Clay; four sisters, Edna (Clyde) Lay, Irene Salter, Neva (Glen) Young and Berniece (Wendell) Loyd, three grandchildren, three foster grandchildren and four foster great grandchildren, together with several nieces and nephews.
Velma was a member of the Mt. Hope Church of Christ in Putnam County. She was a homemaker, helping her husband on their family farm. She was a member of the Royal Neighbors of America at Wyaconda.
