Pauline (Bryant) Shipley DeLoach Hudson

My aunt Pauline passed away peacefully Wednesday night with her grandson Jonathan, daughter Chris and me standing at her bedside. She was prepared to go meet Jesus and is having a joyful reunion with family and friends.

Pauline and her sister (my mom), Mary (Bryant) Sullivan, used to sing in church together. The song I remember hearing them sing the most is Mansion Over the Hilltop¹:

I'm satisfied with just a cottage below; A little silver and a little gold; But in that city where the ransomed will shine; I want a gold one that's silver lined

I've got a mansion just over the hilltop; In that bright land where we'll never grow old; And some day yonder we will never more wander; But walk on streets that are purest gold

Don't think me poor or deserted or lonely; I'm not discouraged I'm heaven bound; I'm but a pilgrim in search of the city; I want a mansion, a harp and a crown

I've got a mansion just over the hilltop; In that bright land where we'll never grow old; And some day yonder we will never more wander; But walk on streets that are purest gold

During the funeral service her children chose to have them play Paul Overstreet's version of the song. Her children and many of her grandchildren as well as nieces and a nephew joined in singing the song for her.

Pauline's obituary from Neal and Summers Funeral Home:
