Longtime Delta, Colorado resident Norma J. Thompson passed away on Monday, October 7, 2013 at the Delta County Memorial Hospital in Delta, Colorado. She was 81 years old.

Norma Jean Tabor was born on April 30, 1932 in Elkhart, Kansas, to Curtis A. and Ruby B. (Lett) Tabor. She spent her childhood and attended school in Delta and Montrose, Colorado.

Norma was a loving mother to her six children and worked as a CNA.

Norma was a member of the First Baptist Church in Delta, Colorado. She loved playing guitar and loved music. She also enjoyed yard work and crocheting.

Norma is survived by two sons: Ronnie Brown (Teri), and James Thompson, Jr., all of Delta, CO; three daughters: Linda Nation (Carl), of Grand Junction, CO, Brenda Brown (Tom Gordon), of Delta, and Barbara Myers (Phil), of Grand Junction; four brothers: Hubert Tabor, of Delta, Larry Tabor (Tammy), of Naturita, CO, Leon Tabor (Carol), of Grand Junction, and Jimmy Tabor (Shirley), of Cedaredge, CO; two sisters: Lois Cribari (Al), of Montrose, CO, and Mae Riegel (Darrell), of Eckert, CO; 13 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Norma was preceded in death by her son, Larry Brown; parents, Curtis and Ruby Tabor; six brothers; two sisters; and a grandson, Chan Proctor.

Funeral services honoring Norma's life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, October 10, 2013 at First Baptist Church in Delta, Colorado, with Pastor James Conley officiating. Interment will follow at Mesa View Cemetery in Delta, Colorado.
