James Lewis Collins, of Mount Pleasant, SC, husband of Pauline Marie Vinet Collins, passed away November 6, 2013.

Born April 11, 1936, in Elizabethtown, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Sam and Ruby Mae Dowless Collins.

A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he was a retired Pipefitter with the Charleston Naval Shipyard.

Mr. Collins was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Mt. Pleasant, where he served as a Deacon, James enjoyed fishing and hunting. One of the highlights of his life was having fun with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Pauline; his three sons, Tommy (Cecilia) Collins of Beaufort, SC, Phillip (Barbara) Collins of Cordesville, SC, and Billy (Felicia) Collins of Goose Creek, SC; his grandchildren, Sean, Taylor, Drew, Tommy, Jr., Kyle, Mia, Hannah, Tanner, and Emily Collins; and his sisters, Hilda Hardee of Elizabethtown, NC, and Norma Hall of Bladenboro, NC.

A Celebration of James' Life will be held, November 9, 2013, in the First Baptist Church of Mt. Pleasant, at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow in Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends, November 8, 2013, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm in J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Mt. Pleasant Chapel.
